The
magellan and the ashy head are the two species of geese available
in this area. Both are considered a pest, and the shooting has no
limits. These are migratory birds coming from the colder southern
weather in winter (starting to arrive on May and staying until
mid-August). The colder the weather, the sooner they arrive. We
recommend June- August for best shooting. The Hunt... Every day before dawn, the guides set up the blinds in the appropriate fields where the most goose activity has been observed. The blinds are typically in holes in the ground where hunters place themselves covered with camo material. Around the blinds, the goose decoys are placed strategically. With the first light of the day, the geese start coming in. The first 1 1/2 hours is the period for the most intense shooting. Normally, we usually see activity for 4 hours until 11:00 AM. There is no limit in terms of quantity of geese to shoot per hunter. Normal hunt is 35-40 geese per hunter, going sometimes up to 100. We complement the hunt in the afternoons with ducks, perdiz and dove shooting.
Hunt Costs Include:
Location... The hunt is conducted in the area of Bahía Blanca. The exact location will vary according to geese populations and best hunting possibilities at the time.
