Situated
in the center of the North Island of New Zealand is the Lake
Taupo district, well known for its captivating scenery and
famed for its trout fishing. This is where you will find "Turkeys
Galore" operated by Matthew (Mau) and Trish Bradley.
They offer the absolute best New Zealand has to offer in the
way of outstanding opportunities for wild Merriam turkey hunting
and a variety of other activities. They welcome individuals,
couples, or families on a homestay basis.
They
offer personalized hunting adventures and numerous sightseeing
opportunities around the region. Mau has had 15 years as a
professional hunter and will provide you with a most enjoyable
and memorable hunt. He has access to over 20,000 acres of
picturesque forestry and farmland in the immediate region
on which to hunt.

Hunting
Calendar...
Wild Turkey season starts in the early spring that is from July through
to December. There is a three-bird limit per day for as many days
as you book to hunt.

Duck
Hunting...
Duck Hunting is available during May and June for the same daily fee
as turkey hunting and includes all the same services.
Activities...
There is a wide range of activities from which to chose ranging from
fishing the pristine rivers and lakes, canoeing, white water rafting,
golfing, bungy jumping, sky diving, water skiing and relaxing in a
thermal pool and much more. The Bradleys live on the banks of the
Waikato River, New Zealand's largest river, and they are only minutes
away from the Orakei Korako Geyserland Resort with its boiling mud,
geysers and thermal pools. The world class Wairakei Golf Course is
only 15 minutes away, Taupo is 25 minutes drive and finally, Rotorua
is just over a half-hours drive.
Taxidermy...
Mau can organize a shipment to their recommended taxidermist located
on South Island at Christchurch or to a taxidermist of your choice
in Taupo.
Travel...
You will initially travel from your home airport to Los Angeles to
board your overnight flight to Auckland. The 12-hour flight will land
early in the morning in Auckland where you will clear Passport Control
and Customs. (Be sure your boot soles are clean of all dirt and
mud!). After retrieving your luggage, you will register your firearms
with the co-located police desk and pay $25NZ for your Tourist Hunting
License. You will then transfer to the domestic flight south to Taupo
where Mau and Trish Bradley will meet you. From that point on you
are in good hands for the rest of your trip.
The
ideal combination is two hunters to hunt with Mau. Trish will catered
to the non-hunters for shopping or sightseeing in the local area.
Booking Conditions...
A deposit of 40% of the total daily rate(s) is required to lock in
the dates of your choice on a first-come-first-served basis. All deposits
are refundable up to 60 days prior to the hunt date. A booking can
be postponed one year to preserve your deposit or it can be transferred
to another hunter for the same dates.
